My surrealist bust is inspired by mental health issues. On the front, you can tell that something is wrong, but you're not sure what is wrong. When you turn the project to the back, you can see that the person is cracked and struggling. The band-aids are trying to patch up large cracks and imperfections within the head, making it impossible to completely fix everything. The rope covering the mouth represents not being able to speak about the underlying issues going on in this person's struggling brain. The rope is also so tight around the neck, making it impossible to live and breathe.
