ABOUT ME

Art is one of the only classes I look forward to throughout my school day. Using my hands and making ceramic pieces completely calms me down and gives me a much needed break in my  busy schedule. In the future there is a possibility that I will become and art therapist. I love helping people and in my opinion, helping people solve their problems through art is amazing.

While working hard to produce several projects per school year, it takes a lot of thinking and decision making. Many of my pieces tend to make people think about things when they look at them. For example, my surrealist bust piece is all about mental health. When you see the project, you can clearly tell what the message is. It forces you to think more deeply and in my surrealist bust's case, it forces you to think more about other people's mental health issues or what they're struggling through.

Prior to taking the Advanced Ceramics class, I had only ever taken a one semester clay course. I had only made 3 smaller projects that were much simpler than the projects from this year. Since last year I have grown and improved in paying close attention to details because that can make or break a piece.
